Smashed iPhone 4, replacement screen

Girlfriends iphone fell off 3rd floor balcony onto grass and suprisingly only smashed the front screen, when I got it it didn't even turn off and works fine (apart from the obvious damage!)

Don't think we are covered by insurance so looks like replacement screen time, have no issues with getting a replacement and doing it myself but does anyone have any recommendations where to get one from? Seen a few on eBay around the £45-50 mark

I'm told that Apple have a process for it because it happens so often. I think Apple charge around £70. Might be worth the extra for piece of mind.

That's interesting, will look into that, unfortunately stuck between London and milon Keynes stores so will have to factor in the cost of a train. Be worth it for the apple warranty though

..they often replace the first one for free @ the apple store... then its £75 any time after that!!

If you get it sorted for free it seems well worth the Train fare.

Picture looks Painful though

Also if you fix it your self how does the phone's warranty hold up? would'nt it be void?

I don't think Apple are replacing the screens anymore.

My wife did something similar, I had to pay £130 and apple replaced the handset. It falls under the out of warranty repair/replacement program.
