Smiling/Being Friendly When Passing (The Same) Stranger In The Street On A Regular Basis

Sounds fairly normal to me, I acknowlege neighbours, etc. if I pass them in the street but not total random people even if I pass them several times a week.

If you say hi, then it will eventually get awkward feeling like you have to say hello to that stranger all the time lol.

If it's a neighbour(ish) then strike up a conversation :-)

flop your wang out? thats probably the best advice, you two could end up together and it could be a beautiful relationship?

i work in a shop which is a 1 min walk from my house so unfortunatly all my neighbours (even the ones i do not know or remember from work) all smile and say hello and i have no idea who most are but i wave and say hello back anyway.

I had a awkward moment when I was walking my dog, past a fellow dog walker and wanted to say something with slightly more content than a simple hello - showing some companionship.

So I said "not a bad day for it?"

Never again, now its just hello every time.

Actually it was more of a exclamation not a question and it was overcast, cringe.

when you watch Rainman is there anything in particular which you identify with?

I love they way it is here in DK, in that it's the exact opposite to the UK. I relish walking down the street here in my new home town, people are so friendly, I'd be ashamed if I didn't acknowledge, say hej, stop, chat for a bit, help someone out, go out of my way for a stranger etc. it's a far cry from the 35 years I lived in the uk upto this point in my life. I've lived here 5 years now and have changed from being an introvert Londoner, staring at the floor, purposely avoiding eye contact from strangers, making my way from a to b, to how I am now, where I'll leave earlier because I know it might take me extra time to get to point b on account that I might get sidetracked by something or someone interesting.

it totally depends what sort of mood im in to how i acknowledge strangers. sometimes id be head down earphones in. most times they'd get a head nod or a smile. good mood and a greeting may be spoken
