Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett attempt to get as close to the truth as possible—without getting burned, Smoke premieres June 27.

From Apple Studios comes "Smoke," a new series created, written, and executive produced by acclaimed author Dennis Lehane. Starring Egerton as arson investigator Dave Gudsen and Emmy Award nominee Jurnee Smollett as police detective Michelle Calderone, “Smoke” also features Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Greg Kinnear, Emmy Award winner John Leguizamo, and featuring a new song by Thom Yorke.

Saw the ad last night and was interested initially but the plot was too obvious and then the ad just confirmed it. I hate modern ads, they leave nothing out.

Was about to make a new thread but glad I searched.

Has anyone started this? A few episodes in and it's decently enthralling. Wondering the how and the why.
Didn't realise it was based on a true story. Or that it was the same creator (and actor) of Black Bird, might have to give that a watch too.

Did anyone finish this? Thought it was pretty good although the ending was a little less satisfactory. Overall it was still entertaining.

We liked it but some of the editing and music was a little weird, remember some scenes being randomly sexualised. My wife and I did note Smollet had a cracking ass :p and they weren't shy to show that.
