My weakness is snacking at night, I was going to say I really enjoy a few biscuits with a cup of tea at night watching the TV but it's more of a habit than enjoyment.

I've thought of popcorn but I can never be bothered doing it in a pan as I have to clean it afterwards (and as we cook 3 meals a day from scratch I already do enough cooking & cleaning!).

So, what low-fat snacks do you recommend?

I've been on a bit of a mission trying to find low fat/low calorie snacks. I've settled on the Ryvita Minis at the moment, 80 calories per bag and they taste quite nice. (I don't like rice cakes) http://www.ryvita.co.uk/products/minis

I've picked up some dried fruit to have for snacking as well, it is handy because the supermarkets market it for kids lunches so you can get little boxes of it rather than having a lot.

I haven't found the magic replacement for biscuits yet.. you could always have some cereal.

A pint of orange squash, no added sugar. Seriously, you may simply be confusing thirst with hunger (a VERY easy thing to do) and I often find when I'm at home that I won't be constantly foraging for nuts in the kitchen if I have a pint of squash by the sofa!

A good thought, but I drink loads of water during the day (1.5-3 l)

I can't buy those Ryvita snacks over here unfortunately, I used to like the multi-grain normal Ryvita's.

Cereal - Crunchy nutz - Shreddies or Weetabix.

I ignored the Low Fat bit as I'm good like that.

This, well sort of. I've just started eating toasted oats with very low fat natural youghurt and a few dried fruits (currently blueberrys).

If you want popcorn, then you can get a popcorn machine for cheap around £20, that way there is no added fat like you have in a pan.

Yep, in modrate oven and just occasionally stir till done, then stick in a air tight container. I wouldn't call it tasty but it's ok.

ive started knocking up a few pots with fruit salad in, couple of grapes halfed a small, citrus fruit with a good kick, half a granny smith apple diced and a bit of pineapple in there with pineapple juice squeezed over the top. keep them in the fridge and crack one out when im peckish. very satisfying and really good for lunch's aswell.

A banana. Much better than biscuits. Anything low GI- I know you said low fat but nuts are a good idea and you don't need to eat a lot to feel like you've eaten something. Go with natural, whole foods.

A gallon or so of tea 'til you feel like you're going to pop.

Ultimate low calorie snack has to be celery, and because it's practically just water you can eat it with any low fat dip to make sure you keep the extra calories down.

Food Doctor: Essential Seed (Omega mix). You can pick these up at the supermarkets from the 'healthy' section. Its a mix of sunflower seeds, pumkin seeds, dried soya beans and pine nuts.
