Is this an Adder or just a grass snake?

Grass Snake by the looks of things Adders have a thicker and darker pattern.

Yes I'm now seeing that Adders have a solid pattern down their backs.

We have two sisters that we picked up from a local cat protection centre, they had been abused and took a while to settle down with us.
