Snake loose in the house!

That viv looks wayyyy to big for that little snake, and there are not many hides or anything. Because its only a baby it needs lots of places to hide so it can feel secure etc. A viv about half that size would be better until it grows up a bit :)

I had 3 corn snakes and all of them have got out at one time or another.
A couple of times I found them behind radiators and one I tempted out by leaving a mouse in the middle of the room.
I had one that found a hole in the hallway and it decided to live under the floorboards.
My youngest daughter saw it one morning and tried to grab it but it went down it's hole and we never saw it again.
For about 6 months I had to warn people there was a snake loose in the house so come in if you're not scared.

Anyway, try a mouse on the floor and warm it up in the microwave first.

...also DO NOT put a mouse in the microwave...silly silly idea. If you want to warm it up put it in a plastic bag in a bowl of warm water, or use a hair dryer...only when it is defrosted though

Someone I knew had corn snakes which escaped. In the end found it under the floorboards wrapped around the central heating pipes.

However sadly this was months after so was dead...

I put all my mice in the micro on a low setting so I can't see the problem.
Remember OP that snakes go off heat so if the mouse is left cold it might as well be a brick unless it's near and can taste it.

friends snake went up the chimney !

one day a few months later was cleaning the chimney and out it popped to everyones suprise :D

I remember growing up one my parents friends had a snake (cannot remember the breed but probably a corn or juv royal) and it went missing one day. A few months later a woman complain that a tin of processed peas that she had bought had a snakes head in it (yes, he worked in a factory which processed peas) snake found and one sad sad owner.

The couple of times my Royal escaped we always found him in the region of the viv as there were mutliple hiding places (wardrobe, draws, viv itself etc) I would be more worried about the cat getting it if it annoying the snake tbh.

Not sure if you answered it yet, but is there any way it could have got out a window?

If so, what's your garden like?
Is it worth putting some bait out there too?
Though you do run the risk of attracting all the local birds, foxes and other wildlife.

So basically a few weeks ago I got a pet corn snake, then recently, just sitting in the living room, cat charges for the plant in the corner of the room next to the snake tank, look over and the snake is crawling around on top of the plant.
So I rush over, throw the cat out of the room, pick up the snake and put him back in. Had no idea how he got out, checked the tank and everything.

Then about 5 days ago, me and my mum notice we cant see him hiding anywhere in the tank, so I take everything out and have a look round and he is not in there. Now this was almost a week ago, still have no idea where he is, have looked everywhere. But it has been about a week since he has eaten, so going to leave a mouse out to try and tempt him. Quite sure the cat hasn't eaten him, don't think she would eat all of him anyway and I haven't found any dead snake anywhere.

Anyone from OcUK keeps snakes? Anyone got an idea of what to do?

Pics of snake before he escaped, this is when we first got him, he is a little bigger now:

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for him. ;)

On a serious note, I hope you find him, how strange that he managed to escape! Have you emptied his home completely including whatever you use on the bottom to look for small holes? Is the top penetrable?
