Snooker & Pool Games On P.C

I found, in Pool Nation, the controls weren't as good as Virtual Pool 3.

For me nothing comes close as Virtual Pool 3 to being the ultimate Snooker / Pool simulator and yet remaining fun.

Also Pool Nation is, well, only Pool at the moment (heard something about DLC but that's not out yet).

Without playing Pool Nation, this is annoying, as Celeris are utter, robbing *******s. VP3 won't work on Windows 8 (despite there being minimal DirectX differences to Windows 7), so you're forced to buy VP4 at £20+. Sod that.

is there anything online with a league table? shame about miniclip not having that with my 76% win rate after 100 games :D

I wouldn't go that far. They did say they understood your problems but (politely) told you they weren't going to ditch the DRM.

Understandable, and well within their rights as the developer.

You have the choice not to buy their games under those terms, or to buy one copy for each device.

It's a choice you have to make, and doesn't make them 'complete *****' as you put it ;)

They will not permit me to have the game installed and playable on two computers in the same house at different times.

That makes them archaic and ***** in my opinion.

Can I transfer my registration to another computer?
Yes, you can use your copy of Virtual Pool 4 on any single computer you own. You may transfer 6 times per year on your own. When you transfer, we will email you your new serial number. Then, use your new serial number to re-register Virtual Pool 4 on your new computer.

If you have a special case, you may contact us at [email protected].

I transferred my registration to a new computer why doesn't Virtual Pool 4 still work on my old computer?
Virtual Pool 4 is licensed to a single computer at a time. If you would like to play on multiple computers, you must purchase multiple copies of the game.

If you transfer Virtual Pool 4 to a new computer, it will not work on your old computer. It may work for a while but at some point the registration will be automatically deactivated.

Could you not just block the game with the firewall so it can't deactivate? Or does it require a connection to launch at all, like the Ubisoft always-online DRM?

It needs to phone home.

On a positive note, the Blackbeard version has no such problems so I am told.

Even with uPlay, at least you can install on different PC's you own.
