Hello,

Looking into going snowboarding in 2011 around the 9th of January for 7 days and was wondering if people could reccomend i could skiing resort?

So far priced up a holiday to courchevel and its about £370-400 but i have been told its pretty expensive for beer and food 5 euro pints. I have been to Bulgaria (bansko) a few times which is really cheap but think the risk of having now snow is too high

Criteria

- Europe ( Australia, France, Italy )
- Good for beginners and Intermediates
- Cost low as possible taking into consideration spending cost (all students)
- Reasonably quiet
- Good possiblilty of snow (high up)

Thanks

Cervinia

miles and miles of cruising blues and reds and very very high up. Relatively quiet and not too pricey.

Accomodation is not as cheap as some other places but you might get a deal if you look around now.

£400?

I take it that doesn't include ski pass (£130-170ish) and any ski equipment you may need to hire (or cost of shipping it over)?:p

3 Valleys is a good place to go TBH, massive area and everything under the sun. I would however go to one of the other resorts in the area, say Val Thorens, Les Meniures, Motterat (sp :o) as they are usually much cheaper.

TBH €5 for a pint will be pretty standard anywhere you ski. It's expensive no matter what.

its £367 for everything (accomodation, flights, 3 valley pass)

The Crystal all in deals are good. What I usually book through. Also nielson have started doing the same kind of package deal.

Can get sub £400 holiday to somewhere like Val Thorens (in the amazing Temples Du Soleil Apartments), of somewhere like Flaine, in equally awesome accomodation.

If you want cheap, don't go to Sweeden. Went there last year lateish in the season on a cheap deal. The area was completely different to France etc, and much quieter. Accomodation much bigger and nicer, even had our own sauna, but beer and burger for lunch was £17, and you could get a beer for £7!!

Would also like to see some links to these deals as i've been looking for weeks for a decent deal and can't find anything sub £500 for a week to the likes of France or Italy.

They aren't difficult to find....

www.crystalski.co.uk look for the big banner with Ski+ deals, or click on 'all in one ski deals'

www.neilson.co.uk and look for the cunningly titled 'Ski Inclusive' section.

"From £395" when in actual fact the majority are significantly more. Best deal I can find to this point would be to Canazei, not too bad price wise.

Thanks for the sarcasm though. :p

I loved Val Thorens when I went there. Would certainly go there again if I was going to the 3 Valleys. It's higher up than the other resorts so gives you longer runs and snow later into the season. When I went it was really late in the season. The snow at Val Thorens was perfectly fine, whereas at the other resorts it was past its best.
