Money isnt that much of an issue aslong as its within reason, i dont know anything about it and i dont know where to start :D

Please help.

As in outdoor in the UK?

Edit - It doesn't matter eitherway.

Ive never been before, but in less than 2 weeks I'll be in Obergurgl, Austria. Theres about 10 of us going and theres only me and one other friend who has never been either.

Before we go we are looking to either go to one of the indoor ski slopes (not a dry slope). We have been praying for some snow at http://www.cairngormmountain.co.uk/ to go up for a couple of days before we go away but theres not enough snow for a snowball fight atm :p

I started a thread on here a couple months back asking what I'd need for my first time snowboarding. Ive managed to drop on a Scott USA - Goretex Jacket for £110 and some decent gloves for £30 from TK MAXX. I had to keep checking every week though because its totally random what they get in. The jacket I bought for example, I picked up the morning it got put on the shelves. They all sold out on that day apart from one Small size. And they have never had any in since.

Im hoping to get some trousers in the sale for about £30 and goggles for around £20.

Ive also bought a couple of hats/beenies, one being a waterproof Seal Skinz one that I got from a local cycling shop and then a cheap Ralph Lauren for off piste if its too cold.

Don't laugh...But ive also picked up a pair of cheap thinsulate ski gloves from ....Aldi.... for about £3, just as a back up pair or for messing around in. :o

As for actually snowboarding...Ive not got a clue yet :p

Milton Keynes Snowdome! I went there for a few lessons before going off to france, was very good indeed.

Do you have good balance? Thats all you need to make a start, I shouldn't worry about clothes and snowboards until you've had a lesson so you know whether you like it.

I got Boots, Jacket and trousers for just under £400 I think, can be had cheaper though.

Anywhere a little closer to home?

Have a look at http://ski.visitscotland.com/ - if you can make it to Scotland
Maybe best to take lessons at a dryslope or XScape first before splashing out on any gear

Good idea.. Ill look into the lessons.

Ive looked on the website that Johno please? posted says that one day lesson, 8 hours costs £155, i think that shows basics obv aint looked into it properly but i think im right.

Clothing wise it says that most of the clothes are just normal winter clothes with waterproofing..

I assume boots will be made to fit boards?

Would i need goggles? If so could i get some to fit over specs? :D

nahh, the one in castleford is closer. I don't do it but i know someone who does (you can hire all the stuff there, get lessons etc.).

Ah nice :) didn't know about that one, might be tempted to visit it

i think ive driven past this.. Is it right on the motorway?

Boots will be hired with board
Wear sunies if you need to - just take gloves, salopettes (if you have them) and a waterproof jacket or a jumper would do indoor
