Right, first of all. I'm not the usual one to start angry drunken threads...Basically, a fairly generic night out, a nice few drinks in a quiet pub and then onto a club for a few more drinks. At about 2am when the club was kicking out, decided to get a few chips from the kebab shop next door, got the chips ate them and left. At the point of leaving, some idiots decided it was a good idea to start a fight with us. I have got a massive fat lip and am likely to loose my front teeth by the feels...the most annoying thing is the bouncer threw me off before I got a punch pack. So I have a massive fat lip, immense pain in the teeth etc for nothing. I'm not a wimp and I know how to handle myself (3rd in chinese kick boxing nationals and first in Royal Rumble 2006 nationals) but the two bouncers threw me off before I had a chance to respond. They said "Do you have a ******* death wish?" and told me to go the **** away. I love Swindon....If I loose my teeth...I'll be angry!

Get to your dentist as quick as you can. With loose teeth caused in these type of instances they can set them back into the gum until they take hold again. I believe that even if the tooth has been knocked out if you can keep it in ice and get to your dentist the same day they can reinsert it and it will take hold again with a temp brace for a while to give it added support while the gum closes round the root once more. Good luck and sorry to hear about the incident.

Edit. Many years back when my son was about 12 years old he fell over and his front tooth was hanging loose. My wife chewed a fair amount of gum and placed it all round the tooth until we got him to the dentist some hours later. Dentist made up a proper support which he had to wear for a couple of weeks but the tooth took root again and is still perfect many years later.

I would say get the bouncers details as witnesses, report the guys for assault, etc etc, but from experience, nothing will come of it so no point.

Ahh Swindon, what a lovely place!

Good luck with the teeth mate.

I got into a fight when I was around 21 years old , where a guy hit me an the mouth with a brick and loosened my front teeth. They tightened up again later though and I still have them 26 years later.

HTH

If your teeth fall out, I have heard you can put them in milk and get to the dentist asap, the calcium in the milk will prevent them from "dying".

He will look like an almighty pillock if that isnt true and he goes to the dentist with a tooth in a glass of milk :p

Getting up this morning the tooth doesn't seem as loose as it was last night, it's front right central incisor so I really don't want to lose it! It is stupidly tender to the point of not being able to rest my other teeth down on it. The only visible signs of last nights 'fun' are a very bent nose, an exploded lip (front and bottom) and dried blood...I just hope that I don't add 'missing front tooth' to that list. Must have been a helluva punch though.. Most annoying part is the bouncers treating me like I did something wrong and not getting a chance to release biblical levels of revenge.

Yep there is a poster in my dentist all about this. Basically if your tooth has come out and is *clean* then push back into its slot and hold it there and go straight to the dentist. If it is dirty in any way then put in glass of milk and get to the dentist. Do not use any detergents or cleaners, just bung in the milk. It also says to handle the tooth by the pointy end and never to touch the end that should be in the gum! Sounds good advice, especially if it leads to saving your tooth!
