So, my big feet can sometimes catch the accelerator and brake at the same time wearing full fat trainers (size 10).. and i hate driving to and from work in my work shoes... So id like to buy some driving boots/trainers that i can leave in my car and basically swap into them before and after work for the journey home.

Im wondering if anyone has already taken this, ahem, step.

I have seen some OMP Kart boots on sale as factory seconds for like £25 and also read about puma ferrari ones being quite narrow (which is good), and i saw these for instance:

and some drift cats on the same site?

Anyone have any experience on this? i only drive up to 25 miles maximum in a day really so not travelling too far.

I hate driving in shoes, don't feel like I get any feel from the pedals, so I just put on any trainers I got. Don't need anything special, just need light rubber sole trainers.

Very bling Skippi!

Thing is raymond my normal driving trainers are truly dead. And my others are max classic 90's which are practically the fattest trainers ive ever worn - definitely not suitable for driving in..

SO i need either a driving trainer like them speed cats or the kart boots but im not spending £113 on some piloti jobs if speedcats do a representative job!

Managed to get a pair of Adidas Tuscanys of off the 'bay a while ago. Solid rounded heel is great for driving for long periods.

Don't think Adidas make them anymore though.

I had the same problem, when I was driving the mr2 home for the first time I had quite a big brown trousers moment when I realised I was braking and accelerating at the same time and the stopped car in front was getting a lot closer. I just bought some ordinary but quite narrow trainers which were much better than my big fat trainers I had at the time. Though the pedals are perfectly spaced for a bit of heel & toe.

i have been wearing my 10 year old '72 cortez classics for driving but they are ruined and something thinner with a flat bottom would be better i think.

See Ganesh understands! i had this as a massive problem when i did my Palmer Audi day with the JP1 Jags, i just couldnt slow the cars down enough for the corners as id keep weighing on the throttle LOL the instructor was a right ^&* about it :*(

These are mine

Cant pluck the courage to wear them on the road mind :D

In my truck, I almost always take my boots off to drive.

Much more comfortable and far better feel of the pedals.

In my car, I drive in whatever I'm wearing.

You have trouble with size 10's? WTF?

I wear size 10/11's and never had a problem with any of my trainers in any car I've owned.

What car do you drive, are the pedals stupidly close together?

The only time I change my shoes is if I have been working in a factory and have my steel toe capped boots on. They have a rubber sole about 2 inches thick and offer no feel from the peddles whatsoever.

For everything else mind, just suck i up :p. I wear size 12 Etnies and never had an issue with them being too big!

+1 mine are size 11 and ive never had this issue in any footware even factory grade fire and chemical resistant stuff. My usual fare for driving is Reekok classics though only because thats what i usually have on my feet. The GF always wears trainers to drive and changes her shoes, i keep telling her shes silly.
