So Finally..

Maybe the combination of everything in your system just causes the interference to occur.. Looks like the DVI>VGA cable just doesn't get on with something.

My advice is this: Buy a DVI monitor.
 
I'm not sure if it was you in a previous thread that I replied to about this, but it's almost 100% VGA interference.

I had the same problem myself, and it was solved by buying a DVI cable. The interference could be caused by anything random in your house. Cables with ferrite cores on each end can help, but it may not. The only sure way to remove this problem is to bite the bullet and upgrade your monitor to a DVI/HDMI one.

And about the monitor, how come with exact same cable and monitor at friends it all worked fine, adapter aswell ? Something in my room then, perhaps ?
 
It could be your electrical wiring in your house, something given off by another nearby electrical appliance, a cordless telephone, it could be anything.

If you can find the item that is causing the interference then your fine with your monitor, otherwise it will never go away.

Have you tried the monitor plugged in to different socket around your house? I would try it upstairs and downstairs and in different rooms.... Or buy a DVI monitor, as digital signal will not get interference like VGA will.
 
Just uplift your entire PC with monitor, cables, keyboard and mouse etc and take it to your friends house and try it there. (including mains cables)

I agree with what the others say about some kind of interference, which could be anything from a faulty wall socket or extension block.

If you can eliminate the whole PC then your well on the way to finding whats causing it.

The whole PC, the hardware, is eliminated from this, like I said. a CD Drive cannot cause those kind of lines now, right ? lol

So there is no real point taking it all over because I know I wont get the lines there.
Now just a matter of time finding what it is. Might get that DVI monitor.
 
Ive noticed it happens in steam chat window aswell, but very lightly and barely visible.

I know I should get a DVI monitor but this one had no problems with cables and same adapter at my friends house. He too had a broadband and speakers right near his PC, just like me.
 
It does sound like interference. Is it possible for you friend to bring his PC to your house and see if he gets the lines then? Just connect his base unit to your monitor, could save you buying a new monitor :)

Since it might be interference, shouldnt I be getting horizontal lines in desktop aswell ? Im only getting them in 3d applications.

For example, My desktop is crystal clear. Activate MSi Kombustor, lines start appearing
