So how do I approach this?

My brother is really broke and has been having a lot of trouble with his soon to be ex wife, is depressed etc, so I drove 10hrs to pick him up and bring him up to my house to hang out, and spend £90 on a train ticket home for him. He spends the last two nights spending all his money getting ****ed, and I leave him alone for an hour passed out on the sofa tonight while I play some Payday2.

I heard him moving about and assumed he had got up for a cigarette, so when I stop for a break I see he is asleep in my bed, naked, and is covered in ****. I go downstairs to discover he has taken a huge sloppy **** in my kitchen.

WTF

He's admitted he has a drink problem (I've been sober nearly 8 years so he knows I know what it's like), so surely this is the point when you stop and think "okay maybe I need help when I'm crapping in my brother's kitchen"?

I'm so mad right now. I'm debating giving him an ultimatum: get help or I post the picture of your **** in my kitchen on fb

You clean the kitchen, you get him cleaned up and when he's next sober you sit him down and have words.

No point approaching it until you've calmed down and he's sobered up.

Dude, how wasted do you have to be to take a dump in the kitchen? I'm assuming your bathroom doesn't have a combination lock on it ;)

Just alcohol or something else?

Clean up and have a word with him when he's sober and you're calmer.

He's hurting and clearly has problems. While it's not your responsibility you should try and help him through it.

You've beaten it and your family couldn't ask for a better place of support.

Seriously though wtf! I can't even relate to being that ****ed :(.

Could have been worse, could have poo'd through your letterbox....

In all seriousness though, thats not on at all. Give him a stern talking to and tell him to sort his head out as hes behaving like an animal to people that are trying to help him.

Well I'd kick him out of the bed for a start... as for a **** in the kitchen... WTF :D

I think he's going to have to eat some serious humble pie for that.... was it just a ridiculous bender/silly amounts of alcohol or is it possible he's a bit ****ed mentally and perhaps needs some professional help?

Is he on any medication? seen people have quite severe reactions to even fairly mundane medication and relatively moderate amounts of alcohol in combination.

Yeah it's all cleaned up now. It stank so bad. My gf is understandably furious. I fully intend to talk to him tomorrow, but I'm expecting him not to follow through.

Bed has **** on it so we are sleeping in the spare room while he sleeps it off. He is on the same anti depressants as me and I still know where the bathroom is. He was just really drunk.

He'll be mortified in the morning, but I fully intend to ram the point home.

Well he already did :D. (Sorry maybe not joke time).

If he doesn't work with you you have no obligations to him not to the extent of affecting your own life.

Give drink line a call 0800 917 8282 they've helped a friend of mine who's mum was out of control. I believe she was sectioned as a result and is now clean coming up 3 years. I'll try and get more info for you as a last resort but obviously it's not the sort of conversation she wants to have.

I'd video him whilst he is asleep, and the mess, and give a narrative like "this is what you are doing to yourself and me." and similar whilst clearly pointing out that he has dropped his guts all over your house. Sit him down when he is sober and watch it with him.
