Hey all.

This is the case im planning to get:
Case
And this is the cooler im planning to get for an i5 2500k:
Cooler
And im planning on adding 5 of these fans to the case:
Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC-GP

My question is.
How much do you think I could overclock the i5 with that much cooling?

Cheers all.

Right Ok cheers.

Well OCers dont do that fan, so I thought they wouldn't really be competing with it?

Ok Sorry guys.

This is my current basket.

My max budget is £900. But if it was £10 over or something, to get a component that is uber awesome and worth it. Then I would.

Im looking for a machine that will play BF3 and Skyrim on High, and will decent for gaming for at least 2 years to come.

Thanks again guys!

SSD

I would add a cheap SSD to make use of the z68 intel smart response technology (it will cache your SATA HD to make it 4x quicker). Although the cool thing is this can be added later as a rebuild is not required - its done on the fly in Windows 7.

Brilliant guys.
Thanks.

This is how it is currently looking then:

Wont be able to get an SSD just yet, but will do at Christmas.

So what other Z68 features are there? I am a complete and utter noob when it comes to knowledge of motherboards.

Wont actually be building the rig until October anyway... Do you think the price of some of the components may fall due to new hardware releases soon?

Cheers.

oh hmm, didnt think of that.
yeah but i thought reference designs are good for cases like these, or am i wrong.
im sure though that theres a case where having a reference deigned cooler on the GPU is better for the case, as the custom coolers dump the heat back/around the case, cant remember which one.

If your using more than one GPU in a case which doesnt have the cooling capacity to shift that amount of hot air through it quickly enough, then youd be right, but youd still want the MSI ref one, £10 for an extra year warranty is a good price.
