So I came up with a way to defeat adblock...

Well, it isn't using javascript, server side stuff only, basically just beating the idea of a "blacklist".

Had a further thought and it would probably require design / implementation of apache/iis modules to fulfill the functionality, and I can't be bothered to implement it - rememeber, some large 50% of an idea is implementation, not just design. Even if the idea worked, if it caned the servers then it is useless.

Thing is, if I explain it here, aren't I just going to free up the idea? As in, companies will use it? I don't want adblock dead just yet...

(PS those websites that put the text behind the ad, just put text behind the ad, they don't actually detect that you have adblock. And if you try to use your own server with a cache, you can just regex the cache. The trick is to defeat regex blacklists permanently.)

That's exactly what it's supposed to be though, "appears". The quote is about things seeming to be profound when they are not rather than the specific sound of the words, surely?
Although automatic translators replace the word "appears" with "viditur", this does not make the Latin correct - it is all about context.

There is a big difference between "Turn right here" and "Turn correct here".
