So I fancied a homemade lamb doner kebab for tonight

Good god why did I open this thread! I miss eating doners sooo much. I stopped eating them round about the time I stopped going out and drinking :) I'm going to make my own this weekend. Mmmm

cling films fine in ovens, i spent 17 years cooking for a living and one place we used to cook and refresh veg, put into serving dishes then cover with buttered paper and cling film. To reheat oven at 180 circa 10 minutes and good as gold, obviously this was large numbers 200-400 covers:)

So..any idea what the melting point of clingfilm is? Where is the cut off for a safe temperature for it? Genuinely interested to know :)

no idea but reckon over 200, the film use to shrivel a bit along edges but peeled of easily, you just had to be really careful of the steam inside :)

140ish according to Google.

Clingfilm is used a lot in cooking, if you ever watch masterchef and other food programs, they are always using it terrines and other oven baked goods that need to be easy release.

There's only one thing to do, buy two to get £10 off one for chicken and one for lamb, and you need a big pass party to use two up.
