So I had my first ever Hershey's Bar

I had one in the States a few years ago and it was awful

It was just too sweet and rather fatty - it left an awful film around your mouth. Not good - when my American cousins came over here they loved our chocolate and bought a few kilos of it to take back!
 
I bought one when I went to NY (I bought all the chocolate and 'candy' I heard of on TV and such in the US and sampled them) and Hersheys tastes like when you throw up and the bile is in your throat.

I thought I had bought an off bar till a friends BF described it the exact same way.

It seems like other people have experienced the displeasure of this stuff.
I've only had this stuff once and i thought i tasted like sick too!
I thought i maybe just had a dodgy bar.

Ha ha I didn't think the "normal" bar of milk chocolate tasted that bad, not good, just not bad.

If any of you have tried something called Hershey's Kisses, the smell and taste = vomit! You will know what i'm on about if you have had the displeasure of trying them.

I quite like that one, bit thin though. I've never had chocolate from the States, but I can only imagine that the Hershey's (like the one above) we get here is designed for our market. The stuff in the US will probably taste different.
 
Hershey's chocolate is made with milk that's gone past its sell by date. It kept costs down when Hershey first went into business. They've tried using better milk but Americans complained.

Every time someone at work goes on holiday, they bring make some sweets from where they've visited. Usually the sweets are devoured in under an hour. I brought back some Hersey Kisses from Vegas and they last three days! No-one wanted to eat them!

Try the 99% stuff, now that I couldnt eat more than half a square of before locking it away, now I am usually a fan of dark chocolate but christ that stuff was like salt, dried up my mouth like I had just chugged down a bag full.

On topic, hershey bars are foul, I tried one once that a friend bought, he gave it to a child, poor kid.
 
Yup plain hersheys stuff isn't great, the cookies and cream bar is surprisingly good, though well its a crazy thin bar but honestly any more substantial and it would be TOO much, sickly in large doses.

Galaxy is so massively better than Cadburys stuff, think Galaxy Cappacino bar ftmfw. Its so nice, but never see it in stock anywhere. hope it wasn't a limited edition :(
 
Melt some Galaxy in a bowl, stir in some Rice Crispies, and place a Mini Egg on top = win.

All the foreign chocolate I've tried tastes like fail.
 
I don't like it, I don't like the way it smells slightly of vomit and I don't like the gritty texture, the dry cocoa powder taste or the strange aftertaste it leaves in your mouth :(

Cadburys and Galaxy for the win I'm afraid.

Go to Brussels and then tell me foreign chocolate is fail. English chocolate isn't a patch on the proper stuff.
 
I was under the impression that Hershey here isn't imported and it's made by someone else? I dont know that for fact but if someone could find out?

The hershey i have experienced was powdery and horrible :(

I've been to Brussels.

Even went to the chocolate factory, but wasn't overly WOWd
