There's no monitors, keyboard/mouse or case because I've already got 3x Dell 2408s, a TJ07 case and a logitech MX5500 desktop and mouse set.

Should be a pretty decent media/general use pc. I wouldn't change the monitor/keyboard/mouse I already have as they're perfect for me, love the keyboard! Also, if I could afford that kind of pc I'd probably blow another £2k on some floorstanders + amp.

I would personally not get the i7 960 its pointless its a 920 with a double price wacked onto it with a slight overclock :S

I would remove one of those SSD's and get a 980x instead. Then it would be an awesome media pc :D
 
Personally, I'd follow my type of spec.

i7 920, Asus P6T, But put 12gb OCZ ram @1066, put a 250gb ssd, fractal r2,but a hx850w and a HD5870.

maybe a coolit eco, but this would still be quick :) + possibly well under budget?

Well, here's mine. Done off the top of my head so nothing set in stone. I'd allow for more video cards later hence the psu and mobo.
