So I'm not really sure where to ask or even if this is really a forum that help me but here it goes.

However many tenancy agreements now cover this situation and specify that the tenant must not change the locks without the landlords permission. If the landlord does give permission, this will normally be on condition that the tenant give a set of the new keys to the landlord.

Get permission, change locks, give them a random key that doesn't open the door and see how long till the landlord calls you out on it. sorry "Honest" mistake, now why did you try and enter the property without notifying me?
Landlords are not entitled to enter the property without the tenants permission

But back on topic if you are going for a low profile case to do the recording I know my D-link nas has got security camera software built into it. but the D-link cam's are not cheap for external use at least but internal I think they're okay just not that small.
