Yes again i know this, it is the bios motherboard that decides, but what i have read and know so far, in bios you decide if you want to use ahci and loose a few of your sata ports, or you chouce pcie and use your pci3 x 4 lanes(only if your motherboard supports this), im asking if you chouse to loose sata ports, so using ahci, are you then only getting sata max speeds, i think this is correct, just wanting confirmation, for example my asus ranger 3 170 motherboards manual, shows, it supports M key and B key m.2, if i use b key that uses 2 of my sata ports, if i use m key i loose none and uses pcie 3 x 4 lanes.
