So....its 4am, and I can't sleep, have work in the morning

All nighters are strange. Last time i did one was to finish a uni project, worked for 3 days straight with only a 4 hour sleep somewhere in the middle. By the end i didnt know what day it was or anything. Afterwards slept for about 12 hours and was still confused for a day after that till my body clock fixed itself. Never again.

Was heading out the door for work when OP made this thread. Lightweight :p
I generally survive on about 3 - 4 hours sleep per day then catch up with a decent nights sleep every 4 or so days.

Big meal will brighten you right up! :)

Just made a trip to tesco's, thought it would be nice to get some air but I felt paranoid in the store :\ way too tired, way too many annoyances, got some red bull and some munch, finish at 5:30

you can DOOOOO IT DJMK! We believe in you!.. but yeah sleep is very very important not enough of it and you feel like and look like poo. If you can rearrange that appointment do it, then get home and jump straight into bed.

As others have pointed out, getting no sleep at all is really not good.

If you can't sleep, get up for a bit and do something, then possibly have a shower if you can. If you can then even get an hour of sleep before you go to work, it will help a lot.

I remember a friend back when I was at University thinking he would do better if he just stayed up all night, revised and then went to his exam which was after lunch the next day. He was on coffee constantly and in the end it did him far worse than if he had just got some sleep.

I think it's also important to look at why you aren't sleeping.
It's understandable if it's nervousness for something the following day, but there are people who seem to have trouble sleeping every night. Another friend of mine used to complain she could never sleep, I then pointed out that she was drinking seven cups of tea a day, so what did she expect? It was especially stupid given that she is a Pharmacist.

I drink more tea than that and I'm usually ok.

God I hate haing an hours sleep. Wake up feeling physically sick. Would rather have non and just have mini naps whenever you can.
Although I do find just lying in the dark peacefully is actually has some of the benefits of sleep.

I'd have gone home at lunchtime, are you still alive? :D

Barely, although I am proper being mean to my work collegues today, but I don't mean it :( I did mention I had hardly any sleep last night, I hope they understand :p

I got out of my appointment later so should be straight home after half 5.

I feel really really rough though, feel sick and drained. Early night for sure tonight

Just wish it wasnt dragging so much though :( time is going so slooowwww

Lol. hang in there. I've been having early nights recently due to being stressed and moving house, so I feel awesome right now. Get of the forums and actually do some work, stop clock watching!

Took your advice about clock watching, it works :)

:p

I made it :D:D sort of :) got told 10 minutes before my house I was not allowed in as my sister and her friend was getting spraytanned

Now I am home, all I plan to do is eat and sleep

That is all :)

I use to do all nighters a lot at Uni but now I just can't tolerate and the feeling is just horrible. If I have no sleep or less than 3-4 hours I become a zombie.
