So it's official the Asus P8P67 range - Avoid?

It would be more enlightening to know

Asus P67 %
MSI P67 %
Gigabtye P67 %

rather than specific models,

cheers, andy.

people are going to have problems with it being a new chipset i curently have b2 asus deluxe and iam waiting on a phone call to be replaced after i got email last week , but this is my secound p67 asus deluxe after i rma the first, but to be honest the one i have now is running sweet after bios updates. i always buy asus boards and when the dust is settled asus will sell more boards than msi or gigabyte.

Nooooooooooo! ;)

:D:D:D

I wasn't trying to point score the other day, just don't like it when claims are made when they can't be backed up properly.:)

It's good to see the figures that NathWraith posted as it helps give us a truer picture of what the problems are really like.

Saying that nkata has a valid point. Return rates for the manufacturer rather than model would be better.

asus p8p67-m pro got me this so far with zero issues

Is there a return rate for Asus H67 boards? Been having no end of stability issues on mine (thread here). It's got to the point where one of the hard resets caused problems with the NTFS partition on my RAID 1 array - BSOD's, random freezes (either screen won't come on after leaving computer for a while, or using it and then the mouse and keyboard become unresponsive and I have to do another hard reset).

Somewhat at the end of my tether now :(

Send it back its not worth the hassle.

More people buy Asus, which is why you see more horror stories. They went through a nasty teething stage though with B1 versions and early BIOS'es, for sure.

I've owned (all P67) the P8P67 Deluxe B1 (random BSOD), MSI GD65 B3 (random BSOD and wouldn't see DisplayPort monitor), GA UD4 B1 (overclocking failed message drove me crazy, LAN also dropped out) and now the Sabertooth B3.

Overclockers were fantastic regarding returns. Their customer service is what keeps me buying here :¬)

The Sabertooth has been flawless, and the Asus UEFI is the best by a considerable margin. The MSI BIOS is plain awful to use, looks like it was designed and usability tested by a 5 year old who just learnt a couple of basic photoshop filters!

Very happy with this board.

I've had a P8P67 PRO since launch and on the whole it has been great! A couple of minor issues but with some research they were solved.

Yes I have had to wait a billion years for my B3 revision but que sera sera, there are more important things in life.

Now, I dont care about being popular so i'll say it. Most of these Asus haters probably have had issues with Asus boards, most of these people probably experienced a thing called "user error".

That's a very silly statement. The issues with Asus P67 boards are far too widespread to be the result of 'user error' and for many of the most common ones there are no reliable fixes yet discovered - look though any thread about P8P67 problems and you'll see a whole list of suggested fixes for issues like double/triple reboots, dying LAN ports, etc, which invariably work only for a few people. Others are left with problems that defy any cure, except one - swap the board for a non-Asus model.

Ive just gone from a P8P67 PRO, which was stable at 4.9ghz, except for the double post issue which I could not cure, to a GA 67A UD7.
Hate to say it but the UD7 has give me nothing but trouble. If i even look at the bios it goes into endless start-up loops, then the SSD disappears, usually reappears after about 2hrs of reboots and cmos clears and Win7 reinstalls.
Been at it for 3 days now and on the verge of putting the PRO back in!

Oh yes my friend , I've turned to painting my face in war paints !!! LOL :D

Just moved from IP35 Pro - SLACR and suddenly all non Uefi boards look so...
well as Fergie put it - 2000 and late.

I would consider this board mid-range in reply to the opening post.

Very forward thinking piece of kit 10/10.

I've had my new Sandybridge system with an Asus P8P67 Pro for a few days now, I've had the mouse freeze multiple times a minute for a few seconds at a time and I'm getting rubber banding and lag in all my online games even though my ping is 60 odd. Has anyone else had these issues especially the freeze/lag in online games?

Touch wood, everything has been fine and dandy so far.

i2500k @ 4600mhz (A50 cooled)
4GB XMS PC16000
P8P67 Pro B3
4950 2Gb

Its quick and problem free! Awesome set up :)

On my third asus p8p67 pro board (been off to repair longer than I have had it running), the last one sent was a B3 revision and had no probs yet (touch wood) but this is deffo the last ASUS product I will ever buy.

Thanks for that info. Very interesting, especially when you say you sell 5 times as many Asus boards to gigabyte boards.

You have to remember 2% of (for example) 2000 asus boards will be more RMAs than 2% of 400 Gigabyte boards. Neither boards is "more" unreliable than the next, it jsut (like I said earlier) we sell a lot more of one brand so peoples experiences are more likely to be posted here, good or bad.
