when i was buying my HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro i was told that it will run a 22 fine but not a 24,is that the same for the nvidia 8800 GTS

Asus A8N-SLI Premium

320mb GTS - 22"

640mb GTS - 24"

I am looking at screens now myself and the Samsung 226BW is the top on my list but I can't get one anywhere, same thing with the LG L226WT.

im going for the 320mb GTS :)

i would rather go 22 if it was much better than going for a 24, i will want to get the most out of my system without loosing quality&performance

so what model tft "22" i would like a nice looking one as well as a good performance one, thats why i like the look of the samsung

I'm hoping to get my 226BW on Wednesday after work, Will post a review as soon as I've tested it.

Gonna phone to confirm availability with the buyers tomorrow hopefully.

so do you think i should wait untill i see some reviews of the 226BW or is there a better 22 to get :)

I think you should wait personally :)

I have just confirmed with the buyer that they are coming in to Manchester tomorrow so I should have mine at home on Wednesday. I will post a review and also state if it is a samsung panel or an AUO one.

Cheers,

G

Well, even the 320meg will run 1920x1200 the 'native 24inch' resolution.

But it will run out of memory if you turn AA/AF up too high. Not sure exactly what point the memory will limit you though. For instance, you might be able to run in 2xAA 1920x1200 without any problems.

My 7900GTO (512mb) handles 1920x1200 with ease, in well programmed games, with all eye candy maxed out, and in badly coded games, its still pretty impressive.

I was looking at the Samsung 226BW and decided that was the one to get however like you could not find one anywhere so I ended up spending extra and bought the Dell 24" instead since I have a 8800 GTX .... I am SO glad I made the purchase!

It arrived last night (ordered from somewhere that guaranteed a A04 revision) and even though so far I have only played WoW on it I am VERY impressed

I had a couple of 19" Xerox screens prior to this and the difference in quality and sharpness is very clear to see
