So my 360 died.

Well as i said i went out and got me another Core 360, got home plugged it in and within 10mins....yes 10mins it froze with a garbled screen, reboot and ding dong 3 red lights

Took it back for a full refund, will be canceling my live account this w/e once i unload all the games etc

I have NO confidence left in the 360 department, i was once a huge fan and games wise i still am but if the hardware is a ticking bomb im not prepared to pay for the ticks anymore. For all those who are trouble free i wish you the best of luck and good gaming :)

I wont send off the last dead core, my conscience has got the better of me.

Thanks for letting me vent, i feel somewhat better now :)

Just out of interest if you're prepared to spend so much money on redundant hardware like PhysX cards, etc - is it too much of a hardship to shell out for games you genuinely enjoy playing?

Ok physx hardware never really took off but i would like to hear more about the "etc"

Please enlighten me

And even the new hardware revisions are still dying form the same 3 rings.

My mind is up and im fresh off the phone from M$ stopping my gold account.

Old post but i need to add to it.

Picked up a 60gb PS3 today after selling all my 360 stuff

All i can say is holy crap why didn't i do it sooner, im back $ony and im back for good :D

This machine ooozes class and after having a PSP for so long the GUI perfect in every way.

And Remote play thru the PSP is brilliant, to have access to my PC and PS3 in a couple of clicks is great :D

No more RROD's for me :D:D

This is still the one thing stopping me from getting a 360, when the problem becomes less of a risk i will get one.

The 65nm GPU is coming along around August 2008 so if that doesn't solve the overheating problems, lord knows what will. Unless they move to a 45nm process next.

Far too long wait. Plenty of posts in this forums about the 3 rings of death and on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th Xbox 360, hardly reassuring for potential buyers!

Microsoft need to get 65nm GPU out as soon as possible but seeing that it will be out in August 2008, I'm under the impression that this GPU may have nothing to do with the rings of death otherwise they won't want to waste hundreds of millions?

I think the reliable PS3, especially with its recent price drops is becoming more attractive as it comes with inbuilt wifi and free online play...Never thought I would say that!
