I thought it was joke, my anti vax conspiracy theorist brother in law has been wearing a tin foil cap / wrap underneath his beanie.

He sheepishly explained he has been getting headaches probably from the 5G masts so tried it one day and his headache went away.

I did my best to keep a straight face and said I fully support your decision :)

I’ve literally just given up talking about anything controversial or political with him just not worth the effort.

So aside from sharing the hilarity of the situation what do you guys do with people like this? Too far gone?

Why can't the guy be entitled to his own opinion?

What as it got to do with you, or anyone else, what he thinks? He's not hurting anyone else.

If you can't stand a different view then don't talk to him. Simples.

Ok NPC.

OP hasn't got his own opinion, he's asking the forum for what they think.

You haven't eaten your wheaties yet?

LOL, you are just upset the ball you just thrown came back to hit your own face :D

He has an opinion, did you not read what he said ? "can't keep a straight face", and he finds it hilarious?

You..... wear the hats, don't you?

Nah, I'm just against bigots.

OP is posting to incite hatred against his brother in law.

If someone wants to believe pigs can fly then so what? What's it got to do with anyone else?

His last line in his post is literally two questions.

What as his brother in laws opinion got to do with him? All the post is doing is asking strangers to **** off his own family.

What a guy!

His post has more than "last" line, you do know that right? If you didn't, don't say i didn't tell you. I have already pointed out to you where he said he can't keep a straight face and the word "hilarity". Again, pointed out to you, can you not tell by his opinion with these lines/words?

He is not asking for hatred, he is not asking for eggs thrown at his family. he finds the situation funny, he is asking if anyone else also does. He also said in Line 3 (you know, not the last line, a few above that.) Where he said "I fully support his decision", but he finds it funny.

and as for yous "What a guy."

See Post No. 2 (Two). What's it got to do with you?

The human mind is an amazing thing - irrespective of any actual difference wearing a tin-foil hat has in "blocking RF energy" (you'll still be getting reflected RF energy bouncing up from the ground) it's a medically known thing that psychosomatic symptoms/cures are a real thing, where if you believe something hard enough you can manifest symptoms and/or cures based on nothing else other than your belief with absolutely zero medical evidence.

My Brother in Law kept posting conspiracy theories about Covid and then on Christmas Eve 2020 his wife's best mate was taken straight to ICU with Covid and a Priest was allowed in with her because they thought she would be dead.
He suddenly stopped with his crap and then one week later started again - I just blocked him and I don't see him in real life anyway.
The woman ended up in rehab for 6 months and is still suffering quite badly.

A case I dealt with at our hospital around March 2021.
We had to carry out a Court of Protection on a 35 year old bloke because his beliefs ended up killing 3 members of his family who he had convinced that Covid was fake.
Within 3 weeks his Mum, Dad & Uncle had died and the COP was because he had lost his mind and he needed to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
Beliefs can cause many problems.

The day all these anti-vax bell-ends decide to stick to their convictions and suffocate at home when covid kicks their ass, instead of unnecessarily crippling the healthcare system for the rest of us, is the day I respect their 'opinions'.

At our hospital we have 158 Covid patients with 83% unvaccinated, how's that for beliefs?

biggest danger is from the guys own mobile phone - did he bin that, or, uses at arms length.

bbc had a programme last week discussing placibo effect - when pain killers were not availible during ww1,
and conversely , nocebo (new in my vocab)
Over two thirds of the common side-effects felt by those who have had a Covid jabs are not as direct result of the vaccine itself.
Rather, attributed to the opposite version of the placebo effect.
These include the likes of headaches, short-term fatigue, arm pain and other mild symptoms.
Writing in the journal Jama Network Open, scientists claim after examining 12 clinical trials, the nocebo effect accounted for around 76 percent of all common adverse reactions after the first dose and nearly 52 percent after the second dose.

He sheepishly explained……
Why was he sheepish about it?

Covid deniers/anti vaxxers/conspiracy theory nutters don’t appear to be in any way sheepish about their thoughts and behaviours. Doesn’t make sense he’d suddenly become sheepish when explaining anything about his beliefs……unless of course……

What a stupid way of looking at things. So if someone believed 1+1=5 you would just say "cool bro, whatever you think"?

Wearing a tin foil hat isn't a "belief" in the same manner as religion.

The whole fundamental of education and human advancement is based on calling people out on things that are wrong based on existing/current evidence and theory.

Sure there are those that go against the grain and are ultimately proven to have been right, but wearing a tin foil hat to protect against 5G is hardly in the same camp as the theory of natural selection.

Most people like opinions to be based on facts

when they’re not, they’re will get laughed at as just the statement alone is crazy

what about the rest of his body soaking up that 5g signal and I bet he is not wearing in his house

I think bowdonuk is a snow flake boys

The UK Health Security Agency said that the percentage of COVID patients who are vaxx'd (either 1-2-3 jabs) is 75% and therefore it's only 25% of patients are "anti-vax bell-ends" so it's not that small number that are "unnecessarily crippling the healthcare system for the rest of us".

However in the ICU alone it's about 83% of COVID patients are completely unvaccinated, which makes up only about 18% of the total ICU beds available.

Whilst the unvaccinated are around 8x more likely to require medical help, the far smaller number of unvaccinated (approx 13% of the UK who are eligible - approx 6 million) means that the vaccinated will always be a bigger burden on the NHS and the blame doesn't lie mainly at the feet of the vaccinated, but mostly on the inability of the various vaccines to prevent spread amongst the vaccinated who make up 87% of those eligible in UK (approx 43 Million people vax'd so far).
