. well insider info may be a bit late as shes only got 40mins left to call back...if its gonna be a faff on i guess ill let them repair it but i know if i get to buy the bits myself ill get better value for money :S

edit: basically the way things are now my expensive athy 400 i could replace with an opteron for less cost and better value for money aswell as switching out the 7800gt for an ati 1800 256mb, just wanted to be clear

It is true that your ins co will get charged a bomb for the repairs including a £30 per hour labour charge but I dont know how that affects your policy or if you would get a better deal by cash settling

£30/hr bloody hell... gonna try get a cash payout for this, in the end its gonna be better value for money for the ins company too...bah what a headache!

£30/hour is dirt cheap for most PC repairs. I know people who would charge upwards of £150 for the first 2 hours, then £40 every other hour thereafter. The job will take them 20 mins and they'll charge for 8 hours worth of labour.
