I don't know what you're all expecting - he bought a pre-built system, obviously he's not very techie if he has to buy a pre-built system as it's very simple to assemble your own for much cheaper with some basic understanding - but it isn't for everyone.

You're completely wrong there, it's not like you have to build the monitor is it, I'm sure if someone is buying an expensive computer pre built or not they have some idea about monitors and kb/m.
You don't know their current situation, maybe he's saving for decent peripherals and using those in the meantime. For example just because I'm currently using an integrated gpu doesn't mean I don't know what a real graphics card is...
