Wow i never thought i would belive it was as slow in the low rev ranges as ive heard people say but it did feel incredibly sluggish. Vtec is great though no doubt about it and the noise is incredible. Ive not driven a rear wheel drive car before however it wasnt the wobbly arse experiance i was expecting, i dont doubt it is in the wet though but for normal driving i cannot see how its possible to wrap it around a lamppost.

Still have to think about it a little more before i make the plunge, was considering a bright yellow one with black leather, almost bought it on the spot it was immaculate but thought i better take some time to mull it over.

I found that for a weekend car or a track car it would be great. Perfect and rewarding to rag around everywhere.

As an everyday car it is absolutely terrible.

Yeah i do somewhat agree with that, although i cant see another car in its range that is more practical for an everyday car, unless you could recommend one (no mx-5s :P)

I've heard the chassis on these isn't very good at all and very prone to just "snapping".

euphemism for "talking out my arse?" Even if you do a slight amount of reading the s2000's chasis is regarded as being pretty capable, if not a bit twitchy on the earlier models. On that note the later rev's did they include a lsd or diff?

Well, the early ones had a great setup that'd be fine right up until the limit then opps you're in a hedge.

They had to be softened up to give people more of a warning when it was going to let go.

You could be looking at Elise's and maybe even Boxster's at that budget.

I've been tempted by S2000's, but I think after a few month's I'd e aching for more power without having to rev the nuts off of it, as I am now with my car.

What you got atm, Scottland?

A Clio 172, which I like but; I do constantly wish I had more power low down - I can only imagine the S2000 to be the same after a while. Granted I've not driven one yet - but I do get the impression that this is what I'll find.

heh, you'd absolutely hate my 1600cc Civic then if you find that a 2.0 Clio is gutless in the lower revs.

Different driving styles really isn't it. I'm personally not looking forward to the day when all you need to do; to go fast is plant your right foot and wait, I like having to drive "hard" to go fast. If you're caught in the wrong gear you're going nowhere, but it's a lot of fun trying to get it right. Maybe it'll wear off soon? I'm nearly 25:o

That's the thing, it's fine when you're "making progress" - but day to day it wears thin after a while.
I recently had a new Mini Cooper S for a week or so, and whilst I didn't really gel with it overall, the power band is much more usable day to day.
