So, the OCUK forums are blocked at school.

What draconian school do you go to. Blocking IP's from an "unknown website"? sounds like you have a whitelist...

If the web control software doesn't recognise the website it's sensible to block it.

If it works anything like software I've used in the past unknown websites will automatically be submitted for checking and then categorised. You may find that a website is initially blocked but becomes available a couple of hours later when the rule sets are refreshed.

I find it very sad on two levels, A. That you are even able to steal installers from a server, someone is not doing their job properly and B. If you spend the time actually doing the things you are supposed to do in school instead of things you aren't imagine what you could achieve!

We have been known to LAN Counter Strike Source at school. But, who can blame us, it's a good game and we could argue that the network topology is Computer Science work.

Quake multiplayer in my day but same theory.

Running from one of the admins network drives too. (Extracted the path for a hidden novell netware drive from a network cards bootable ROM, at that point one of my proudest moments. Left it looping one of the maps from a random machine so the semaphore on the open files stopped him deleting it :D )
