So, this new car Ive bought...

It’s got two marks on it now! Poor bloke driving it. Not having a good start to his day is he?

I assume they’ve called you and admitted what happened…

I remember doing a similar thing once.

Years ago I went to see my grandad on my birthday (he gave me £100) reversed my 330Ci out of his drive and hit a low wall of his. Ending up costing me the £100 and then some to get it repainted.

Doh!

So he just drove off. He would probably deny it if you didn't have the video proof. I think you need a chat with them.
Phoned em and whatsapped the manager the clip. He didn't sound best pleased with the driver
Told us to get the builders in and send em the bill.
Dropping a courtesy car round tomorrow for us to use until ours is sorted

He was cutting it a bit fine to the wall, but he probably couldn't see the staddle stone at all from his driving position. Best to give yourself more of a margin for error, which he'll probably do in future!

People are too reliant on gadgets these days
exactly - when was the last time you reversed a car at such pedestrian rates ... but if you buy cars you can't see out of that's what happens,
people don't know the width or length, or where the 4 corners are - no one expects ... a stone

People are too reliant on gadgets these days and have no spacial awareness. I see it every week when I go shopping, it's like nobody has any actual skills at driving any longer. :(

Saw a post on here yesterday from a member on here who hit something because the parking sensors didn't work - personally I use them the other way around as a warning if I've messed up rather than as a reference. The Qashqai has 360 cameras and sensors though and it makes parking sooo easy I'm definitely getting out of practise doing it without.

I agree to a certain extent, but a lot of modern cars have absolutely terrible visibility which can make parking in tight spaces without gadgets very difficult.

One of the things I like about my pickup despite being a larger vehicle which makes parking more complicated especially in a country like the UK, actually has pretty good visibility aside from over the edge of the front opposite from the driver.

Without the sensors and 360 cameras the Qashqai would be pretty terrible.
