Why do the BBC insist on using possibly the world's worst media player, Spyplayer, sorry I mean Realplayer?

Yeh I was a little bit wizzed off with that so I downloaded something called Real Alternative. Quite nifty.

its free, and cross platform (to an extent)
can't use WMP as its not available on Mac etc and can't use most of the other open sorce jobbies because of the unique way that the BBC is funded.

Realplayer has been proven to spy on users. However, if you download it from the BBC link it is meant to have those components removed, but I don't believe it.

Spyware or not, it is still ****.

Vent means playing it in WMV. It can't be done because the BBC doesn't give you there links to audio or video because of copyright issues. That's why you cant rewind a pre recorded radio show :mad:

You can use the bbc streaming through WMP. There is a 'play using standalone player' link on the listen live section.

It's a .RAM file and doesn't seem to want to open in WMP and I have the real alternative program installed.

I apologise if this has been mentioned already. I found this today, http://www.getdemocracy.com/

It seems to take streams from youtube/del.ic.io etc.. and aggregates them. It looks to have a hell of a lot of channels on it.
