Sorry if this is a bit of a simple question.

I have a few swirls on the car people have been saying to use T-Cut on it.

So what does T-Cut do to fix this. Does it embed itself in the swirl? And how does it match the colour if the car is black, but T-Cut is yellow?

Cheers

Tcut is a mild abrasive, it "cuts" back the paint, basically taking a very thin layer off, down to the level of the scratches, thus making them invisible again :)

cheers for the info

i thought the paint had a laquer over the top. so does it cut through that as well?

and if so, does T-Cut then put it's own sort of laquer-esque cover on?

Its very unlikely that the "swirl marks" are all the way through the clear cote (or laquer), and as a reuslt, you will most likely only be "cutting" back a layer of clear cote, not of actual paint :)

The coloured one is best, but it all rubs off eventually. Bit of a con, if I'm honest, and will only work with the lightest of scratches.

It you use T cut properly it doesnt leave any real layer of product on the car, so its not a question of it lasting, more a case of how long before the fresh paint picks up fine scratches known as swirl marks.

Standard T cut is an abrasive, it doesn't "rub off"

from what i've read, to get rid of swirl marks a combination of meguiars clay bare and polishes are pretty good.

the clay bar will only get rid of contaminants on the paint surface... its more of a clenser
