So what have you found while fixing peoples computers?

A mate bought his PC round this morning because it has slowed down and things have gone missing.
This is the 3rd time and it always happens when his son comes home from Uni and he obviously does what most males do - look for porn.
Last year I set my mate up with an Easynews account so he doesn't use Torrents or have the need to go looking at dodgy sites for stuff but still his son wanders.
However, his son (and it is his son) hasn't cleared any traces of what he's been up to and sitting on the desktop were two Shemale films and two gay films :D
I also found a directory of recently downloaded gay porn.
I will definitely have to keep this away from his Dad.

Every now and then I check his computer at his home and its always clean but this time there were also 8 viruses and 436 malicious malware on it and this is all because of torrents and dodgy sites.

The thing is BigStan that sometimes its staring you in the face.
All the stuff was linked from the Desktop because I had setup Firefox with Downthemall to put everything there (for ease of use).
Obviously his son hadn't noticed an increasing number if icons on the Desktop.
I must admit (for my mates sake) I now wish I'd investigated further because what else might his son have downloaded?

Around 1983 we had to have builders in to do a bit of work so that we could sell our terraced house.
When I got home in the afternoon they were both round next door bonking the **** who lived there and I had to shout them down because they'd left my doors open.
Anyway, a couple of days later I went to my porn stash which was in my bedside cabinet and half of it was missing and only they could have took it.
You're right BigStan, I did feel violated but what worse was the thought that they would have gone through my ladies cabinet which contained all her bedroom lingerie etc.
If they had been in my cabinet they must have been everywhere but all my porn video collection was intact (perhaps because they were labelled Coronation Street, Brookside etc).

I agree with both Atreus and BigStan but I don't think many posters are actually reading their posts correctly.

It did get a bad rep in the end due to the boss selling dodgy gear at bowlers computer fair at the weekends.

Things like that make it more believable.

Done both professional Ethics and Law, achieved 75% :) i know its unethical, i m just curious why people here seem to think its ok for him to do things i specificaly said not to, on the sly. but its not ok for me to monitor him.

I'm with you.
If I instructed somebody specifically not to use my PC for certain things then their arse will be mine and to hell with ethics.

Speaking of odd things in the case itself. Never ever fix the PC of someone who chain smokes while using it. The damn thing had yellow fur growing over everything, no wonder it was overheating.

Nightmare - especially my Dads PC.
I have to take it outside, hoover it, scrub it and spray it etc.
He had one of his guitars setup and the guy who did it said he spent over 2 hours getting all the nicotine off that :(
