I would really like to see a poll of this. Anyway so what version of Vista have you decided to go for? or are you as confused as me?

I am very close to going for Home premium 32bit and 64bit retail dvd. But really I want Ultimate, but I cant afford the retail version, and other than that it would have to be OEM but I want to be able to upgrade my pc. If I do go ultimate OEM I will prolly get 64b it ver.

Just interested in other peeps desicions. :)

Was going to go for Ultimate but as I use Acronis for backups and VNC/LogMeIn rather than Remote Desktop I can't justify the cost.
Home Premium OEM once I've got a new PC.

Why don't you get Home Premium Retail as above and then use Windows Anytime Upgrade if Ultimate really turns out to be better (i.e. Ultimate Extras). At the moment they're pretty much the same.

Hey thats a very good idea mate, thanks for that. Wonder if anyone knows how much an online upgrade would be?

But a great suggestion thanks. :)

ultimate for me. In fact, i'm already running it.

:D

I'm still running Vista Ultimate at the mo.
I haven't used any of the features that differ from Home Premium so when I buy it there's no point.
Do you mind if I ask what you'd miss about Vista if you went with Home Premium?

Definitely going for Home Premium, though can't decide on retail or OEM. I've only just upgraded to a new motherboard and unless Intel bring out some amazing next CPUs in the new five years which mean I need to change motherboard again, I won't be upgrading it.

However, five years in the world of computing is a looooong time, so who knows where CPUs will be in five years. Vienna is scheduled for 2009-12 anyway.

Probably going to go for the Home ultimate upgrade, as there's a fair chance I'll be upgrading my pc in the future.

Well reading that it does seem ultimate wont be worth it over home premium. I heard that ultimate might have some sort of game tweaker in it, but it doest seem so.

I think HP will be the os for me. :)

I plan on getting Home Premium as I quite like the Media Center aspect for Xbox 360. But it's mainly for playing games as I will Leopard-ing when that is released later in the year.

I've pre-ordered Business 64-bit edition OEM

I wanted Ultimate but it's just too expensive. I have no need for Media Centre so I decided to get the Business edition instead of Home Premium
