So, what would you do?

It's not just about the money

Yes it is.

it's about finding out exactly what happened, holding those responsible accountable for their failings (assuming they exist) and making sure an incident like this doesn't happen again.

No it isn't. All of those things will be done anyway as all aviation occurrences like this are required to be fully investigated by law. The NTSB have been conducting an investigation for some time.

'Murica

Anything out of the ordinary happens and some leech like "about as many morals as a dictator" lawyer is rubbing his hands together building a class action suit and everyone is hoping for a free payout. Part of doing business over there really, that's why everyone is insured up to their eyeballs in that country.

Fair point, I hand't thought about that. But a lawsuit helps to keep it in the public eye and gives the airline added incentive to resolve any problems.

My personal view is unless you are genuinely harmed – suffering debilitating life changing injuries which could have been avoided - it would be B without hesitation. It would not cross my mind to think about legal action as I would count myself very lucky to escape an air crash and leave it at that.

Sorry, but bogus financial legal action makes me so angry. I was involved in an RTA a few years back, a couple of clowns called for ambulances, the usual legal shenanigans followed thereafter for dubious ‘whiplash’ injuries - made my blood boil.

Its in the public eye anyway and the airline is legally required to resolve any issues found as a result.

The notion that this lawsuit has any public good or is altruistic in anyway is laughable.

Normally I would say they are moneygrabbing cheap scum but...

Not this time. A company doesn't think twice about screwing consumers over any chance it gets so this is just a case where the tables are turned.

See what you can do when customers all band together

I applaud their willingness to fight against corporate commander

Hope they get their 100 mill

:)

Couldn't agree more.
