So whatcha doin for new years then?

At parents. Watched a couple of films, the first hour of Jools.

Never had NY out since 2004/5 when living in Leeds. Queues for drinks, taxis crazy.

As to regards to going home, thought to
myself sod this and walked the 4.5 miles home.

Yup. Ukraine, tick. Queer, tick. They just love to shove all the political crap into it.
Just hate watched it and yeah you weren't kidding. Not sure how they decided that was a good idea to put next to a tribute to big Liz :(

I'd like to think the irony of playing her quote "Even with the most deeply held differences, treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human being is always a good first step towards greater understanding" against the backdrop of intolerant progressive ideology is something that will strike a chord with many, but I'm probably kidding myself.

Currently watching some Big Eurovision Party where they've dragged up winners from years back to perform their songs. The passion in the audience is crazy... they know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.

I'm waiting for the polar bear song.

The wokest firework display on record.

2022 is the first year that I have a telly, so can you please explain on what the deal is with the fireworks? I know that "woke" means it's too politically correct (not meant to offend anyone), but what grounds does the fireworks have a woke agenda? Not a troll post, as like I said it's the first time I have a TV and I'm starting to recover some of my eyesight.

Edit: I liked what they did with the Queen with the lights, which turned into the King.

Don't worry, it doesn't make sense to anyone else either.

See the Andrew Tate thread for more hot takes from that group of posters - the sort who want us all to hold the views of the 1950s and are tricked easily by the most obvious of con men.

I went to my local - last orders was 930pm, shut at 10 (was supposed to be open to 1am but landlord decided to shut early) so got a pizza on way home

In Dublin for New Year with friends for 4 nights. Somehow, and still not clear how, I ended up watching a thing called Westlife. Just awful but now afternoon tea is calling then Guinness.

We stayed in with the kids. Had a domino's and watched the Simpsons Movie as my son is now a fan. I am not usually up for anything unless it's with close friends or family but having spent all of Xmas with the flu I just wanted to sleep!
