So who is actually gaming at 4k and if so what gpus are you using?

Good support goes along way, particularly when you are purchasing a premium product.

This is probably a dumb question but do the Titan blacks support HDMI 2.0 anyway?

No idea. I tried plugging something else into the port and nothing happened there either (our TV box) so I assume the port is dead.

Either way they can tell me when they come out :)

Nvidia control panel picks up the display. You can even set the HZ, resolution to 4k the lot. You just don't get any display.

I had my 1080p monitor plugged into the GTX 770 at the time so yeah, could definitely see the display and alter the settings...

That's very odd.

I just hope they get it sorted for you in a timely manner as it must be very disappointing and it is also an inconvenience to you but I guess these things happen from time to time.

I'm cool for now. It's been flawless with TV and movies :)

I was set on 4k but decided to stick with 1440p in the end, some of the latest games are just far too stressful for that res and I didn't fancy spending shedloads on gpu's every year to keep up! :D

Poor me, I'll have to live with a sweet 32" panel for a while

tested 4k DSR and downsampling (Changing monitor res via driver) , granted it's not exactly the same but my rig coped better than expected although I wouldn't use it daily as I can't crank and max :D

Thanks for the comments guys. I do have the option of getting an extra 290x to go trifire in the longer term I suppose, would need a better psu for that as well though.
I think a lot of the decision will come down to exactly what Freesync monitors come out and their prices next year. The Iyama 4k that is already promised a Freesync upgrade looks very good but if a ROG Swift equivalent or a 32" 21:9 came along for sensible prices they could tempt me instead.

I`m slowly going through my games list but not had chance to try many of the big hitters.

I've tried AA on/off and you cant really tell the difference other than when you ramp it up a bit chug chug.

Although I am in a bit of a unique position as I have 4k and G Sync and went 970 SLI for the first time ever so a lot of new things to get used to. I did do a lot of reading and there seemed to be a lot of doomsayers about 4k who didnt actual have or experience 4k. It started to seem a bit like jealous people who want it but cant have it so they poo poo it.

Borderlands prequel I just played at 4k and it was excellent. Although I have the added wonder of extra real estate coming from 24" to 28" too its like having a bigger window on the game world and sometimes I find myself just looking around.

Just about to try COD AW so will post back with any further experiences.

Im surprised, there must be a point where the DPI is so high jaggies aren't evident.

Jaggies are even more annoying @2160p than they are @1080p.

The image at 4K looks a lot cleaner than 1080p so if jaggies are present they are a lot more annoying.

As to the best 4K setup - 4 x Titans, this may not be quite as fast as the latest cards but it is visually smoother than 290X quadfired with or without mantle or 4 way 980s. I think there is a bit more to cards than just having enough VRAM or a fast enough core as the Titans seem to outclass the other setups.

Well just played the first mission in CODAW and it was surprisingly smooth. All settings at max apart from AA/supersampling off and the cached shadow/sun maps off (might try them on later). Didnt notice any Jaggies. :p

Jaggies are less noticeable at 2160p (28" screen at normal desk viewing distance) but seems to be a bit of pixel crawl (annoying) at distant objects when moving about.

Have to knock down a few settings though to get playable on the latest stressing games. 30+ FPS on Dragon Age Inquisition on Ultra. Turning off AO gives a good 15+ fps though.

Probably need a new platform or a 3770K at least for me to attempt tri sli though. And scaling looks weak in most titles from the limited benches I have seen.

Some more good stuff, thanks all. My system is decent but I'm not expecting perfection or world beating performance so I think from what's been said so far I'll be very happy if I do go freesync 4k. I'm currently only using an ancient, not very good 22" 1080p screen so the jump to 28" 4k should be fairly noticeable :)

I have a 4k monitor,and I am waiting for the next Titan.

You will need several to get the best out of them.

If you are not going to max the settings to use all the VRAM you can, a GTX 980 would be near enough as good as a single next gen Titan.
