So who's freezing there behind off?

I have about 3000Kw worth of heat producing heaters in the livingroom, still freezing with new double glazing.

My mate duncan went out on the **** the other night, left his window to his bedroom open. When he got home at 5-6 in the morning, his bed covers were frosted solid! :p

This was in Fife.

No swearing

Assuming you own the place and haven't already, get cavity wall and loft insulation.
We noticed a major improvement when we had the walls done, and the loft insulation topped up (double glazing cuts down on the heat loss through windows, and drafts from them but doesn't help much if you're losing a lot of heat through the walls/loft).

The heaters have been on for over 34 hours. And my house is still freezing cold.
That's one thing I won't miss in Jan when I Move is Sash windows. There's not one that fits properly, constant air flow and single glazed. Anyone looking at renting or buying. Insure it hasn't got sash windows.

Haven't used my car to day and it's still frozen solid.
BRRRRR

Aye - Bristol's had a cold one. It was -2.5C at 8am, -1C at lunch, it's still -1C at the moment. Sash windows can be good though. My old man is a carpenter and makes oak sash windows (Georgian style) with double glazed sealed units. They are heavy and totally airtight.

I keep turning the heating down in the house, as i am too hot even in shorts and tshirt sitting beside the draft from the open window. If anything this house is too warm after a while even when the only heat in my room is my lamp and computer running.

Ohh they sound good. Wish we had some. I don't actually have a window at the moment. it's boarded up with some plywood. As it broke the other week in the high winds. They got to get one custom made. Which takes about two weeks.

I was stood in our yard at work getting disgruntled staff to get their arses into gear to get to work from about 530am till 10am. It was below freezing, I was in my suit.... (not normally my job, but I thought a bit of senior muscle might get things moving - it did :D) I did have 2 pairs of socks, a vest, a fleece, a thick rain/wind cheater, some skydiving gloves, my motorbike neck warmer, and a wooly hat on as well - I was still flippin' freezing. 3 hot chocolates, 2 pieces of fruit cake, a banana, and some toast and houmous later I started to warm up... sort of.

Currently on holiday in NZ and so very warm. Made the silly mistake of no suncream yesterday, paying for it now!

I've had to start stripping off I'm so warm. :( But my right hand (mouse hand) is cold as ever.

Fog?

I can't see My windows boarded up.. And I don't dare go in the lounge I might freeze to death instantly.

Yup, I can barely see the houses in the road behind, go on be brave go look, bet ya cant see my house! :D

was pretty cold earlier, but then again i was out in the town centre with just a shirt on, but spent most the day in bars so its all good :)

Not me, heating on, double glazing. Plus i'm getting used to it, cycling 2/3 times a week and walking to work in this.

See I'm fine when I'm outside. I work out side and walk into town with jeans and t-shirt. But when I'm inside I like being warm. Until it's bed time then I like it cold again.

Freezing. Old house, poor insulation, old boiler/heating = cold.
I don't mind the cold at all but this is particularly cold! Much warmer downstairs at least.

Around 10:30pm last night I went for a 5.4 mile run (43 mins). It was around -1C. I love running in the cold, wear tights, long sleeve shirt, fleece, gloves, hat... stay really cool and feel like I can run forever.
