So why should I jailbreak my iPhone?

I used to JB all my iOS devices but I got fed up with the never ending cycle of waiting for a new JB before upgrading to new firmware revisions. It was more hassle that it's worth in the end.

Alright. How does the JB affect battery life and performance?

it doesnt

but in my case it improved things because sbsettings enabled me to turn wifi etc off at time where i normally wouldnt bother

I'm in the same situation, and unless there's a JB feature that you are desperate for, I think it's more hassle than it's worth myself. :)

wheres the hassle part ? its done in a couple of clicks

LockInfo is the best thing about jailbreaking. Having a proper notifications system is great.

Tbh i dont even use lockinfo anymore...it doesnt seem to work properly and i really cannot be arsed faffing around with the config and system files etc.

But my iphone4 has been jb'd from the day the first jb came out...i like it because of sbs settings but also for the folder enhancer app and the dock app which allows you to have 5 icons on the bottom dock...pretty useful....other than that i dont bother with the other rubbish jb apps...a lot of them are stupidly expensive as well.

Since jb'ing my phone, ive had zero issues ie crashing etc hasnt happened on mine...so the people saying that it messes up your phone are talking crap as usual...just dont put every silly jb app u can find on your iphone.

The only disadv to jb'ing is that im still on 4.1 OS as i havent seen or heard of any new jbs for the 4.2 or 4.3 OS's.

The thing is that apple needs to start implementing some of these apps into their OS ie the sbs settings, folder enhancer and the 5 icon dock along with a few other things....can only hope that maybe future OS's will include these features as standard.
