So will the 6 core AMD will outperform i7?

No, I just dislike ostensibly thick and annoying people

Then look in the mirror.

Fact is I have outed the hypocrites spouting i7 is more power than you need.

Now 6 core AMD comes and its fine to buy one.

Sad to be shackled to a comapny that couldn't care less.

I love real people,my friends,my family not a tech company.

Pathetic TBH

:D

Shackled? I'm currently running a C2D and have not been happier in ages - but I can also recognise that i7 is more than most people need, especially given the price. The difference as pointed out is that the X6 setup should still be cheaper than i7, so while possibly being OTT it is not costing an arm and a leg.

You don't even know the pricing yet...

You don't even have any benchies to go on.

And yet you are making all these claims.

You use words like should, and would, and possibly.

SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP :p

The normal justification for multiple cores on here is video encoding, by how big a margin does a 4ghz i7 920 beat a 4ghz 965 in this?

Thrashes it.

Fact is most have been spouting about not buying into power they don't need.

And yet most of the AMD crowd will jump on 6 core like flies around **** :p

Each core of the X6 is unlikely to be slower than the X4, given the X4 prices right now it is sensible to assume a sub £200 price - and given some of the internet leaks suggesting something similar ...

Now go run along and get the Intel 8 (or was it 12) core chip, and some Fermi cards :)

there you go again

with words like unlikely :D

I had wondered if that was what's been bothering you.

Was fully expecting you to get an i3 and clock it before a certain comparison thread popped up. Still, I guess most people would have taken the i7 route for the price. Must have been all the more enticing though...

i3 was nearly in my basket then that 100 quid i7 came along.
