So why not buy a rigid fork in the first place? It's lighter, cheaper, zero maintence, and more aerodynamic.
I overtook a MTB, he was huffing and wheezing at a snails pace. heh.

maybe he was new to it?
what happnes if u fancy abit of off road best of both worlds no?

Then you buy another bike. Would you suggest using a SUV for on road? And a porsche for off road?

As they say, jack of all trades, master of none.

u cant b unnhop onto/off pavements when there is too much traffic on the road though.

Mountain bikes make the road an urban playground!.

Plus roadies shave their legs.

Specialized Hardrock Pro

If your tall get the 19" frame, I'm 6'2" and i still use my old 17" frame which is fine for me. I would recommend trying some bikes in a shop before buying to get the right size.

I rode the Hardrock yesterday and would agree with the frame sizing. I'm 6ft tall and the 17" was great for me, easy enough to chuck around (although I did come off a few times, my fault and not the bike though...)
