so what gpu setup do you all run how long have we had it and are you keeping it. and what card do you really want..

xxx xfx 4890s in xfire plays all my games well crysis 63 fps

there actually very quite

purchased back in september

and the only card i would rather have would be a 5970... or 2

Currently running an xfx gtx 275, had it for about a month, this card was an rma replacement for a gtx 280. Plays most things pretty well, but im hoping to upgrade to a 5870 in the next few weeks.

Spec as below. Had the card for nearly eighteen months and have decided, with the help of some other folks opinions on here, that I'll be keeping it for at least another few months or possibly longer.

If I was to purchase a new card(s) right now then it would probably be xfire 5850's. MSI most likely.

Had a 9800gx2, which I would still have , but it broke and I got gtx285 RMA.

I wont be upgrading for at least a year, I just dont need to.

It was quite a bump pre 9800 series, i had a 7800gs, AGP no less!

Sold my 2 x 8800GTS 512mb on ebay and was awaiting for fermi. After reading reviews of the 470 and 480 have decided to purchase a 5870 at £267.

mmm in the last 18 months in my rig i have had a 8800GT,4870 512, 2 x 4870 1Gb, a 4890 and now have a 5850..i swap a lot.

I have also used in builds a 260, 275, 4650, 5750 and a 5770. I just cant make myself pay over £220 for a gfx card.

I'll be buying an Asus 480 GTX at £411. I would like to play all games with the full compliment of features that games can show. ATI cards cant.

well, i upgraded after 4 years from an amd athlon 4200 x2 with an x1800xl and 1 gig of system ram.
had the cpu for ages before the x1800xl i had an 9600pro that struggled to play battlefield 2 on low haha

it was just not cutting it anymore, i managed to sell the system too a friend for £200 pound including monitor which was 1400x720 , printer, keyboard, mouse.

i payed with £1100 pound back at christmas for a complete new system, it consisted of;
Coolermaster case
720w 80+ powersupply (atrix)
Intel Core i5 750
Ati Powercolor 5850
4 gig of corsair xms3 ram
ASUS P7P55LE motherboard
1tb western digital hardrive
Blue Ray Drive
Multi Card Reader
Viewsonic 27" 1080p monitor
Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse
Windows 7 64 bit edition.

I am very happy with the gpu of my choice, i was contemplating on 5770 in crossfire because i remember the 5850's being out of stock, but i waited few days and managed to bag a 5850. And i am very happy with purchase.

Plays everything flawlessly, bar metro 2033 in dx11 mode.

Just recently i bought an asus essence xonar stx soundcard. new headphones, sharkoon 80mm fan and 120mm apache fan. currently contemplating on ssd but they are too exspensive.

it should last me another 3 - 4 years with graphics upgrades and cpu overclocking fingers crossed.

currently got a Sapphire 5850, had it for about a week, impulse bought it second hand out of the mm, & i only bought it out of boredom to replace my GTX285, which ide had for just shy of a year.

I had a NVIDIA 8600GT for more than 2 years until January of this year when I went to upgrade and got a ATI 5850. I am not a heavy gamer and this is the first time I have spent more than £100 on a GPU.

I went for the 5850 after saving for a 5770 and then thinking that I always go for a mid range card and tend to run into problems running games a yar or so down the line. So the 5850 was a top end mid range card / low end higher range card.

I looked heavily at reviews and of course price was a big factor but the 5850 seemed to be in the best performance / price ratio.

just out of interest, what features are the 5k series missing?
haven't noticed anything like that on the reviews.

had a p4 machine with a 9600XT for 3yrs and wanted to play some newer titles.

Kidded myself by investing £80 into a 3850 AGP about 18months ago but it was seriously cpu limited.

bit the bullet in october getting an i5 + 5850 at launch making me another member of the 'more than satisfied' 5850 club.

How good would one card be in crysis?

PhsyX, cuda, the 4** series also seem to perform better at tessellation, which may or may not be a bonus in upcoming games.

Whether or not these add up to being actually worth the price premium is purely up to the end user. It's a question I'm still pondering myself, couple of 5850s or a 480GTX, it's a hard decision?
