so you made your gpu decision

Running a BFG GTX 275 running 24/7 clocks of 700/1600/1250. I purchased it around april/may last year and it is still going strong although i still have the upgrade bug.

Was an upgrade from a BFG 8800GTX

I would like a new card and was very VERY close to ordering an ASUS 5870 with the plan to overclock it. However, I simply don't need to upgrade yet really unless i find a bargain. I am waiting for an ATI refresh or perhaps just the next generation of cards. I'm hoping ATI's 6 series will deliver a near 100% increase over my current card.

Shame Nvidia dropped the ball this time around as i would have liked a 480 looking at it's performance. I just simply can't justfy it at its current price, temperature and power consumption.

got them and the rig in my sig last month to replace my x800xt PE on a 3200+ athlon with 1GB ram :p
i have noticed some games running slightly smoother since my upgrade :D

nice.

That must have been an awesome upgrade!

Went from 8800gt 512 to a 4890 2gb Vapour-X.

Did it because it was cost effective and had a new monitor 20" to 24" and the extra power helped.
Don't do benchmarks as I only care if it games with the level of detail that I want, which it does :)

got a 5870 love it. went up from a GTX280. not the biggest jump but a nice one none the less. considering a 2nd one sometime or a 5970. probs get a second 5870 though.

Currently running an xfx gtx 275, had it for about a month, this card was an rma replacement for a gtx 280. Plays most things pretty well, but im hoping to upgrade to a 5870 in the next few weeks.

Its my understanding its better to get a 5850 and Overclock it to 5870+ speeds and save a few quid? dont quote me on that like - just general concensus on threads I've read.

Still on my 4870 here. Not been playing too many demanding games so am going to build a media PC and get a SSD before I get another GPU.

It would be nice to play Crysis at max but other than that.

I'm on my Powercolor 5850 but performance in CAD and 2D also is poor, **** poor. So I'll be selling this once a reasonably priced low-end 470/480 hits the market. Note: I really didn't want to switch back to nvidia but I have absolutely no choice, as ATI support for CAD (and visa versa) is absolutely woeful at the moment and shows no signs of improving. I can live with games being a bit slower and the extra money I will need for this. Sadly.

Had the 5850 for...2 months i think and i'll change it when i have to use medium graphics.

Card i really want? Nothing atm.

I've had my 8600GTS since I upgraded my core system back in 2007. It is ok-ish at 1680x1050 at medium details/no fancy stuff in most games up to MW2 (we won't include Crysis in that) but the lack of memory is a major issue.

I would love to get a 5770 but thats not going to happen anytime soon. There are always more important things to worry about.

I've had my HD4550 for just over a week. Obviously it can't compete with the big boys but it does allow me to play Left 4 Dead on medium details on 1024 x 768 on my single-core desktop. And it works with my 250w psu!

Asus 4890, got it may 09 and its doing well @ 1920 x 1200.
at the time i wanted the vapor x version but was not in stock, and asus was next best option. don't need a new one so would not want one as the most intensive game i play is PES 10 and on occasion some Crysis & mw2

Im using an MSI 5850 @ 1000/1150, had it for about 3 weeks.

Previous card was a 4850 512mb but she died , before that it was a 8800 GTS 320MB.

Next card? Depends. If my crazy spending spree continues it may be a 5970 and another 2 x 24" TFTs

Since C2D ive been with 7900GTX (sold), 7950 SLi (broke/RMA/sold), 8800GTX (sold within a year and broke within a month), 8800GT SLi (one broke inside warranty period the other broke 1 month outside of it), - Sapphire 5850 (works fine since i moved onto W7) thinking of getting a second one if I can pick one up under 180 ish. Either that or sell this 5850 off for a high end refresh card/ hold till Q3 architecture arrives.

I am a launch day feind (being early on the 24incher bandwagon will do that to a person), for now, it looks like the 5850 is one of the only recent cards that has paid off.

Currently chugging along on a old 4670 1Gb, got the DDR3 version though so its not completely gimped :p

Going to buy a either a Toxic 5850 or a standard 5870 that I've managed to find at a stupidly cheap price!

Ive still got my beast of a HD4890 and a GTX280. I'm happy with the performance of both.

I'm not 100% sure what card I'll buy next but it wont be any Fermi based cards that I am certain of :p. I'll probably do the sensible thing and wait for ATI's second gen DX11 card this winter. Unless the 5980 is fast then I might upgrade the gtx280.
