So you need to return your graphics card under warranty....?

The second one "When assembling coolers with adhesive materials." looks like someone has had a very bad cold and sneezed on the card :D

so basically, if anything at all goes wrong with your card, you cannot return it....

lol that has to be the first time iv'e heard of a warranty being void by simply installing the card, and then not touching it at all (neglecting to clean dust)
Of course theres a very simple way around that. If your card dies due to dust overeheating it, simply clean the dust off, and send it back :D

So if a componant fails, short circuits, and overheats they will blame your PSU NICE!. Quite a few of those pictures could have been caused by catastrophic failer of the card.

I can understand voiding warrenty on cards where the heatsink/fan/cooling solution has been change.. but even then it really should only void the warrenty if for example it was the gpu chip that failed..

And clearly if someone knifes, or otherwise valdalises the board... But they do seem to be looking for ways to avoid warrenty cover.

Some of the coolers on Geforces are pretty much impossible to clean properly without dismantling them, which no doubt would void the warrenty as well.

BFG are pretty good ...i had problems with a 7800gt i had bought about 18months ago...it was running over 100c but not always crashing but because cards exhaust was blowing such hot air over the northbridge it caused all kinds of problems.
well i sent it in on thursday/friday and now on wednesday i have a brand new 7800gt back.
it doesnt make up for the 18 months of hell i had with the card but im more than happy as newer card is running much smoother at only half the temps.
they didnt have to exchange it but they did which was nice of them.

i always had to turn the detail down on the other card to lower work load(keep temps down).

what do you mean you took the graphics card out of the origanel packaging
im afraid this is a sad case of warrenty VOID :p

I once had a DVD type card made by Sigma Designs that smoldered and burned whilst in my case, thankfully I was using the PC at the time and I first smelled the problem..!!!

The card was quite blackened and burned around a few of the components, the PCI slot and motherboard were both fine.

The retailer exchanged it with no problem at all.

I am just glad that the manufacturer wasn't Gainward.

does any one know just how many companys dont mind the cooler being changed?
i know evga havnt got a problem with it.

Didnt seem to bad at first... seemed like nearly a guide how to pass their warranty checks when you dont deserve it.

You know... take off your new cooler, but back on the orignal, remember all the screws, take off the memory sinks too, dont use some crappy paste that looks like metal.

But then, dont be unlucky enough to have a slightly chipped corner (which doesnt really matter, and can happen before you get it)
Don't have a warped pcb (which happened on the x1800's and x1950's... thank god gainward are nvidia only)
Having a little dust on the car.
Having the nerve to clean the dust of the card and having to replace the paste.

I lol'd at memory chips ripped off though.

LOL at the one that was returned with a leadtek cooler on it :p

Also LOL at the last one about improper cleaning but furthur up the page it says you cant remove the cooler lol

Added to my list of brands never to buy.

+1

what if components burnt on their PCB due to their manufacturing or handling failures?

i can understand them refusing if you've modified the board, but some of those burns could be their mistakes.
