So you want to buy a new case then?

No - I think I got that lot out all in one go.

As for mentioning specific cases - by being so specific about the Coolermaster and Lian-Li cases, you pretty much are saying that anything else isn't as good. I think that's undesirable in a sticky.

I'm not knocking your work though. It's a great start to something that was definitely needed and I salute you for getting your sleeves rolled up and doing it.

All kudos to you.

Ive only pointed out thoose series of thoose cases, as the others by thoose manufacturers are aimed at other markets. I also dont think there are any other series of cases, although the point has been noted for Lian Li and I will edit the sticky acordingly now :)

Im using wheat for the colour :D

And if you check out the sticky now, there is a small update at the bottom :)

Thank you for spending the time to put this together. I have another suggestion to your guide - the compatibility of power supplies. For example, I bought the Coolermaster Praetorian 730 and a Tagan 530W power supply. Unfortunately, the design of the case prevents access to the top 2 power sockets makes access to 2 of the other sockets extremely difficult. Fortunately, I can make do with the accessible pins and I feel really stupid for not checking it out in the first place. So it's a lesson I learnt and one worth sharing with others - presumably there is some sort of specification of power supplies and cases to ensure compatibility.

Thats a more tricky field, sometimes you can do it by just looking.

With non modular power supplies it is easier, but with modular it is more complicated.

Great idea though mate, a lot of work through to maintain and make it as I just dont have the same experience with Cases + PSU's as with Cases on there own.

I can give it a shot, but its always easier to ask on here in its own thread I find :)

Oh I know it would be a great deal of work. And it ought to be something the case manufacturers and suppliers provide. I would suggest just having the issue as an item in your list of things to look at when selecting a case and HOPE that forum users contribute with their own experiences.

mikeyd :D

Have a look at my other thread, taken your idea one stage further - only thing is it is dependant on people wanting to contribute.

'Other thread'? I took a look at the stickied thread entitled 'Yewen's Guide to Buying a Case and The A-Z of Modding (updated for 2006)' but didn't see anything there. Can you post the link, pls? Thanks.
