....and you need to choose the car that will house all the time circuits etc.

So what car would you choose as the basis of your time machine? Feel free to say why you would choose your vehicle as well.

I'd have a very hard time choosing anything other than the DeLorean. Original I know. :o

Let's just assume all the electronics would fit in a car.

Yes it's stolen from BTTF but I watched it at the weekend and wondered what cars people of motors would choose.

Being a practical man, I'd go with a Challenger tank.

Going back in time might cause the natives to become hostile, and roads probably won't exist where you want to go, or be of low quality. Time machines tend to use quite a lot of power as well, so the large power source the tank has will come in useful

It'd have to be something with decent offroad capability, and easy to fix. So I'm going to go with some kind of old Landrover. You know, the ones you can fix anything with a hammer and adjustable wrench? :p

Something that has at least a hybrid engine... Petrol wasn't around in the more interesting past and probably wont be around in the more interesting future so a power source that can be jerry-rigged to be charged from other sources would be useful.

I'm gonne go time travelling in a Prius! \o/

The delorean ran on plutonium so petrol wasn't an issue. i think it then ran on recycled garbage after the first film too?

No, the time circuits (aka flux capacitor) ran using plutonium rods in the first film (and by Mr. Fusion in the 2nd and 3rd), but the internal combustion engine needed to achieve 88MPH are powered by ordinary regular gasoline, it always has.
