How fast can you go in a Sugo SG05 without resorting to the dremel?

The answer... this fast. ;)

I've been told it does not, and there's no dual-BIOS switch so i'm reluctant to give it a try.

hmm, which make is that one ?

was going to stuff my current build into a Corsair Elite 100 and make do with on chip gpu, thought the Sugo 300W would struggle with anything decent

Impressive.

Any fitting issues at all? Any ideas if all 6950s fit or only certain ones?

This one is the Sapphire HD6950 2GB Rev.2. It's the same cooler that they have on their 1GB card, with a shorter PCB. The first revision (that came with the old PCB, dual BIOS switch and bigger cooler) will not fit, at least not without cutting.

how much clearance is there behind the card?

Very little. It'd probably still fit with the powert connectors on the back (they're on the top) but clearance is very tight. I had to strip the system down (everything out) to get it in.

I realise that, but I'm hoping the case above is a 300 :)

Nope, i'm afraid not. I'm running the ST45SF 450W PSU in mine. It's doing absolutely fine though, no buzzing, chirping or other untoward sounds, even under load.

Ah well probably a good thing, hate the style of the SG06 particularly in Silver, hence the reason to move to an inconspicuous rear of monitor vesa mount solution with the CM Elite 100

Got the Sugo for half price and it was a cheap solution for an ITX system at the time, a decent GPU could have saved it from the MM :)

I actually prefer the looks of the SG06 and i'm in two minds about ditching my SG05 on the MM for one.

I doubt you'd be able to run what I have on the 300W PSU though.

If things go as intended tomorrow you could buy mine and swap PSU's :)

Tute, I bloody love you!

I've been doing intricate measurements for a SG05-450 build and I was looking at the 1GB Sapphire 6950 so I didn't have to cut the case. Then I was told the revision 2 2GB version was getting the same custom PCB.

You, sir, have posted photographic evidence that it will fit!

Although you obviously can't say where you got your rev 2 from, can you confirm for me the actual product code so I can track one down, and how much you paid for it.

I also think I see all-in-one water cooler tubing, again something I was going to do (Corsair H60 or Antec Kuhler 620).

If so, what are you using, which way have you mounted the rad, are you using an optical drive, etc, etc.

Any chance of a complete photo tour of it please? It seems you've pretty much done what I was planning and it'd be good to see yours for reference for when I do mine soon.

Much obliged.

I paid £209.99 inc VAT plus free 5 working day postage. Sapphire have two versions of the HD6950 - the old one with the bigger cooler and dual BIOS switch has the code 21188-00. The new, shorter one is 11188-00.

A quick Google will return the place I got it from.
