Hi. I've got a 754 socket MOBO (asrock K8Upgrade-VM800) running a Athlon64 3000 processor and I've read that some s754 MOBO's have trouble using two sticks of double-sided ram.

My MOBO states that it can take 2GB (max) at DDR400. I've already got a gig stick in at the moment, and hastely bought a second gig of RAM as I've just bought Battlefield 2 and heard about horrendous issues without plenty of RAM.

Anyway, I've played the game on my PC using 1gig of memory and it plays fine, but my memory has just been delivered today and don't know whether to send it back. If I open it and have problems I'll have trouble getting a refund.

Will I have problems?

Not much of a response to this 1. But if u dont have a problem dont try too fix it. 2gb will always be usefull and if decide to put it in and have probs u could always recoup most of the cash by selling it. Just include the receipt

Try the memory selectors on Crucail and simialr sites for your board, if 2 1GB is suggested then there a good chance they think it will work. My 754 chaintech nvidia 250 board and my SIS Xp board have no problems with 2gb.

I've checked Crucial on the memory I bought and it is compatible with my MOBO, but the other Gig stick in my PC is an unknown generic module I got when I bought the PC. Hope they work together OK.

Cheers all.
