Hello,

Following my previous thread and advice received I am going to purchase the Corsair 750d case for a new liquid cooling setup. Being new to this I have been doing some reading and have already run into some issues.

I want to use my existing configuration as much as ossible but am struggling to find compatible coolers. I am using an Asus Rampage Formula motherboard with an Intel QS6700 which is fitted on a socket 775. Can anyone recommend a liquid cooling system for this? The corsair ones don't seem to support socket 775 any more without needing additional backplates which all seems very confusing to me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi.

Just recently I bought myself a little plaything, a board I always fancied. Abit IP 35 Pro.
On LGA 775.

I did treat it to a sealed water unit.
This one

If I am truly honest I don't like and wish I had stuck with an air cooler.
It works well and keeps things cool. Not done any OC though.
What I don't like about is the fixings. They seem cheap and nasty.
Took me a while to get the thing fit securely enough where I was happy to switch the thing on.
I am comparing this unit to the only other sealed water unit I have used and that is a Corsair H100. This was, is a great bit of kit.
Actually not sure if it fits LGA775, will have to check up on that.

Hope this helps you out.

Nab yourself a Raijintek Triton Core and a pair of Corsair SP120LED fans and you're sorted.

The Core has had a S.A.D. tax applied here (+£5) but I think it still represents outstanding value.

That looks nice.

Wish I'd have seen that. The double rad would fit in my case.
Would look very nice in your 750D.

Hi there,

Thanks for the recommendation and I'm checking this out. As far as possible I want to keep the existing kit as it's perfectly usable for the job, 2.66Ghz Quad-Core overclocked to 3.3Ghz and 8GB RAM. Not needing an all-flying system by today's standards as, for example, I don't play games which would benefit from it.

The cooler was my main worry, so thanks for that recommendation. Sad I missed the cut-off for delivery this weekend from Overclockers, but the girlfriend came first :-)

All the best for now and take care, but always happy to hear other ideas.
