Hello,

Ive been overclocking my p4 630 (3ghz scott 2mb) and was woudnerign if it has the same temperature and voltage limits as the socket 478 ones,
Atm its runnign @ 4.25ghz and its stable for veryday sue but im afraid to kill it that way, tmp is peaked 55C when stressed and 39 C idle, its cooled by a ac7freezerpro, i have a volt modded asus p5ld2 , vcore = set @ 1.45 in bios and its 1.512 in real droppign to 1.45 when stressed.
Soem things worry me tho, everest says the core volateg is 1.3 volt (default one) but i thougth it was 1.4 like with the 478 socket ones, am i actually overvolting my cpu too much??
Also since its a different scott (officially irwindale is the name for prescott2mb), can it still handle tempratures upto 70 ish ??
PIC of cpu-z and sf history graphs (the peaks on left was when stressed):

Sry for askign sometihng probably asked b4, but the ppl i usually ask stuff on msn are offline...

1.4v?! thats nothing... 1.38 is default voltage. If you have very good air cooling 1.55v would be the limit i would say. Im having to use 1.425v just to be stable at 3.75ghz :( i got a bad clocker! Ive been all the way upto 1.6v and that got me to 4.7ghz but not stable of course :D

Been running at 4ghz at 1.525v for a good few months now though and it all seems to be fine

1.550? isnt that overkill i just finished test with prime 95 for 12 hrs , seems to bee stable on 1.45 in bios

B4 this i used (for bout one month) it @ 4 ghz @ 1.4375 V and it was prime stable too, i might, tho make a custom water coolign kit to push temps down more and get a 4.5 stable clock out of it or something near that...
Only thing hard to find for little money is the pump, rest is easy enough to fidn and make....

I said 1.55v MAX doesnt mean you have to use it if its stable at lower voltages...
